Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Job Coach to join our team. The Job Coach is a crucial member of our team, responsible for providing on-the-job training and support to help participants achieve their employment goals. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, with clear pathways for career advancement within Lambs Farm.
The Role
- Provide tailored, hands-on job training and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in both facility-based and community settings
- Assist participants in developing and improving essential employment skills
- Monitor and evaluate job performance, offering guidance and adjustments as needed to ensure success
- Support individuals in transitioning to work in community businesses, whether through group-supported work or independent employment
- Collaborate with other staff members and community partners to create a supportive and inclusive work environment
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that aligns with Lambs Farm’s mission and values
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of the Direct Support Persons Training Curriculum provided by Lambs Farm within 120 days of employment
- Experience in job coaching, vocational rehabilitation, or employment support is highly preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Physically capable of performing tasks that require bending, lifting, and walking, with the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds to manage mobility aids and assist participants.
- Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
- A high degree of patience, empathy, and understanding
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including accurate typing, navigating websites, entering and recalling data, using word processors and spreadsheet software, managing emails, and familiarity with digital communication etiquette and techniques
