We are seeking a full-time server for the Magnolia Cafe & Bakery, which is a full service restaurant. We are open for breakfast, lunch and weekend banquets. This position requires flexible daytime hours and requires weekends.

Qualifications:

• Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to four hours)
• Ability to communicate in English (verbally and written)
• Pleasant service-oriented personality, well-groomed and good communication skills
• Capable of carrying loaded trays and handling multiple tasks

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests, present menus and specials, make suggestions and answer questions regarding food, beverages and service
• Take food and beverage orders from guests and relay orders to kitchen staff (must be 21 years old to serve liquor)
• Process guest orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and timely
• Communicate with host/hostess, bus person and kitchen staff while coordinating stations to ensure guest satisfaction
• Serve courses from kitchen and service areas promptly
• Garnish items for proper presentation
• Observe guests to ensure that the guests are satisfied with the food and service, to respond to any additional requests, and to determine when the meal is completed
• May assist bus person with stocking of work stations, removing and resetting soiled dishes and silverware from table at the conclusion of each course and cleaning and resetting vacated tables
• Routinely maintains and cleans wait station and service areas
• Participate in banquet set-up, tear down and banquet facility maintenance and clean up
• Provide training and supervision to adults with developmental disabilities
• All other duties as assigned
