We are looking for a compassionate and professional Server to join our unique restaurant team. Our ideal candidate will combine a passion for food service with the patience and empathy needed to work alongside and support our diverse staff. This role requires not only excellent customer service skills but also the ability to create an inclusive and supportive work environment.

 

The Role:

 

  • Warmly welcome guests and guide them through their dining experience
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the menu and daily specials
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and input them into the POS system
  • Serve food and drinks with proper timing and presentation
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively to requests
  • Upsell when appropriate to enhance the guest's experience and increase sales
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with and mentor team members with developmental disabilities, adapting communication styles and providing patient guidance and support as needed
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive work environment that celebrates all team members' contributions
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff, hosts, and management to ensure smooth service and appropriate task allocation for all team members
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and restaurant policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining area

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be 21 years or older to serve alcohol
  • Previous restaurant experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding English
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry heavy trays (up to 30 lbs)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail
  • Strong multitasking abilities and time management skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills: Accurate typing, proficient in navigating websites, entering and recalling data, using word processors and spreadsheet software, managing emails, and familiar with digital communication etiquette and techniques
  • Food Handler's certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hiring)
