Join Our Mission at Lambs Farm
At Lambs Farm, we've spent over six decades helping people with developmental disabilities lead productive, happy lives through meaningful work opportunities in our farmyard, restaurants, stores, and community programs. We're a vibrant community that serves as both home to our participants and a place where visitors grow through enriching experiences that create lasting connections.
We're expanding our day programming to include more creative expression opportunities through LF Studios art programs, Quest life enrichment activities, and retirement services. This growth means you'll help us build innovative experiences that foster independence and personal achievement for the adults we serve.
About This Opportunity
As a Direct Support Professional in our Day Services program, you'll work directly with participants in our Libertyville location, supporting their involvement in art creation, skill-building activities, and community experiences. You'll facilitate meaningful daily programming while helping participants achieve their personal goals and explore new interests. This role includes occasional local travel (10-15%) for community outings and appointments, offering variety in your workday and the chance to support participants in real-world settings.
What you'll accomplish:
- Lead engaging activities in Quest programs, LF Studios, and retirement services that spark creativity and build confidence
- Support participants in discovering new skills through art, yoga, computer learning, and hands-on experiences
- Facilitate community integration by accompanying participants to field trips, recreational programs, and local activities
- Implement individualized service plans that promote independence and help participants achieve meaningful personal milestones
- Build collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support
What you bring to this role:
You're someone who values meaningful connection and finds purpose in supporting others to live their best lives. Your emotional maturity and interpersonal skills help you build trust with participants and work effectively within a collaborative team environment. You bring cultural sensitivity and a genuine commitment to upholding the dignity of all individuals.
- High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of CASAS assessment
- Valid driver's license (IL, IN, or WI) and ability to complete PACE driver certification within 30 days
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with participant mobility
- Basic computer skills and comfort learning agency software systems
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred
What We Offer
Work Environment: Weekday schedule in our day program facilities and art studios in Libertyville, with occasional community outings that add variety to your week.
