Join Our Mission at Lambs Farm
At Lambs Farm, we've spent over six decades helping people with developmental disabilities lead productive, happy lives through meaningful work opportunities in our farmyard, restaurants, stores, and community programs. We're a vibrant community that serves as both home to our residents and a place where visitors grow through enriching experiences that create lasting connections. Now we're expanding our impact by launching a behavioral health clinic designed specifically for aging adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This is where your clinical expertise meets genuine community impact. We're looking for a licensed practitioner who wants to roll up their sleeves and provide direct, hands-on therapy while implementing a comprehensive behavioral health program within established regulatory frameworks. You'll spend significant time working directly with clients, but you'll also be instrumental in shaping the Behavioral Health program. You'll be joining an organization where hard work, excellent care, and respect for every individual's potential aren't just values—they're daily practice.
About This Opportunity
You'll be the clinical leader and founding director of our Behavioral Health Clinic, implementing evidence-based approaches to mental and behavioral health services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. You'll tailor services specifically to address the unique challenges facing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, working within established frameworks from governing bodies such as the Illinois Department of Human Services. This role requires 10% travel for local community partnerships and professional development, with some evening and weekend flexibility to meet program needs.
What you'll accomplish:
- Design and launch a comprehensive behavioral health model with personalized, culturally sensitive approaches tailored to our community's needs
- Build strategic community partnerships with healthcare providers, advocacy organizations, and aging services to establish referral networks and expand our impact
- Provide direct client assessment, treatment planning, and hands-on therapy while developing program policies and procedures
- Assess staffing needs and develop the clinical team structure as the program grows, potentially supervising additional mental health professionals
- Create specialized training programs for Lambs Farm staff across the organization to support integrated behavioral health approaches
What you bring to this role:
You hold current Illinois licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, Licensed Psychologist, LMFT, APN with Psychiatry Specialty, or physician with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your background includes at least 2 years in supervisory or program development roles, demonstrating your ability to build systems and lead teams effectively.
Your expertise spans evidence-based therapeutic interventions, behavioral assessment, and trauma-informed care approaches. You're comfortable with electronic health records, clinical documentation for billing compliance, and data collection systems that support quality improvement initiatives.
Most importantly, you combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion for our mission. You're culturally sensitive, organizationally savvy, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. You see technology as a tool for better care, not a barrier, and you're excited about the challenge of building something from the ground up.
What We Offer
- Work Environment: You'll work primarily in our clinical and office environments in Libertyville, IL, with the travel and flexibility requirements noted above. As we launch this new program, you'll have input into optimizing our clinical spaces to best serve our community's needs.
- Growth and Impact: This is a valuable opportunity to shape an entire program from inception, develop innovative service models, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll have access to continuing education, professional communities of practice, and the resources needed to maintain your licensure and advance your expertise.
- Our Values in Action: At Lambs Farm, dignity, empowerment, and inclusion aren't just words—they guide every interaction and decision. You'll work alongside a team that genuinely believes in the potential of every individual we serve.
