Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual for the role of Operations Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our logistics and business areas, including customer interaction, inventory control, animal care, and assisting with our programs for adults with developmental disabilities. This role is perfect for someone who loves working in a dynamic environment and is passionate about positively impacting the community.
The Role
As an Operations Support Specialist, you will serve as a versatile team member who provides supplemental support across four key operational areas. Your specific daily assignments will vary based on organizational needs, and you may rotate between different areas throughout the week.
Animal Care Support
- Assist primary animal care staff with daily feeding, watering, and monitoring of farm animals.
- Help maintain clean and safe enclosures, barns, and public areas.
- Support participants in handling and caring for animals under supervision.
- Assist with visitor education about animal care when needed.
Retail & Customer Service Support
- Provide additional coverage during busy periods or staff shortages.
- Help with stocking, organizing, and maintaining the retail environment.
- Assist with sorting, pricing, and displaying donated or specialty items.
- Support participants working in retail operations.
Food Service Support
- Assist with preparation, packaging, and stocking of baked goods during high-demand periods.
- Help maintain clean and sanitary food preparation areas.
- Support participants in completing baking and packaging tasks.
- Assist with organizing and replenishing bakery display cases as needed.
Warehouse & Operations Support
- Help with receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming inventory when deliveries arrive.
- Assist with picking, packaging, and delivering orders during busy periods.
- Support the processing of shipments for online and wholesale orders.
- Help participants engage in appropriate warehouse-related tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Adaptability and quick learning abilities with comfort in changing environments and daily task variation.
- Previous experience in any of the following areas: animal care, retail, food service, or warehouse operations.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to engage effectively with visitors, customers, and participants.
- Personable and energetic with a positive attitude.
- Ability to seamlessly transition between different work environments while maintaining professionalism.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physical capability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and walking, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including accurate typing, navigating websites, entering and recalling data, using word processors and spreadsheet software, managing emails, and familiarity with digital communication etiquette and techniques.
