Join Our Mission at Lambs Farm
At Lambs Farm, we’ve spent more than six decades creating meaningful opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to lead productive, fulfilling lives. Through our events, restaurant, stores, and community programs, we bring people together in ways that foster connection, purpose, and growth—for our participants, our guests, and our team members.
Our special events play a vital role in supporting this mission. From community celebrations to corporate and fundraising events, each experience helps sustain our programs while showcasing the heart of Lambs Farm.
About This Opportunity
As our Special Events Coordinator, you’ll help bring Lambs Farm’s events to life—from early planning through execution and follow-up. You’ll coordinate logistics, work closely with sponsors and vendors, and support smooth on-site operations to ensure every event creates a welcoming, memorable experience for guests while supporting our mission-driven revenue goals.
This role blends organization, relationship-building, and hands-on event support in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
What you'll accomplish:
- Coordinate event logistics from planning through completion, including vendor coordination, sponsor tracking, and on-site event support
- Support revenue-generating and fundraising events by tracking budgets, expenses, and post-event feedback
- Maintain positive relationships with corporate sponsors by fulfilling benefits and tracking deliverables
- Respond to facility rental inquiries and coordinate booking details for public and corporate clients
- Represent Lambs Farm at trade shows and community events to promote services and offerings
- Implement and follow standard operating procedures related to cash handling, inventory control, point-of-sale systems, and sales reporting
- Support licensing, permits, and compliance requirements related to events and food service operations
- Assist team members and volunteers during events
- Collaborate with marketing and development teams on event promotion, fundraising logistics, and business development activities
What you bring to this role:
You’re organized, adaptable, and enjoy creating experiences that bring people together. You’re comfortable juggling details, working with a variety of stakeholders, and supporting events that sometimes require evenings, weekends, and time on your feet.
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree in business, hospitality, or event management preferred)
- One to two years of experience in event coordination, hospitality, retail, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with guests, vendors, sponsors, and team members
- Experience using point-of-sale systems and basic sales or expense reporting tools
- Valid driver’s license (IL, IN, or WI) with ability to travel locally as needed
- Basic computer skills, including email and web-based systems
- Experience working in a nonprofit setting or with adults with developmental disabilities is a plus
What We Offer
Work Environment: A dynamic role across office settings, outdoor event spaces, retail areas, and community venues—no two days look the same.
Growth and Impact: Build valuable experience in event operations, sponsor relations, and nonprofit work while directly supporting programs that empower adults with developmental disabilities.
Our Values in Action: Join a collaborative, mission-driven team that values respect, integrity, teamwork, and meaningful work. You’ll see the impact of your efforts firsthand as events create opportunity, connection, and community.
