We're launching an exciting transformation through our Pathways to Inclusion & Employment (PIE) project, and this growth means we need a visionary leader to help expand competitive community employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll help us build sustainable partnerships with local businesses while developing innovative approaches that create lasting change in our community.
About This Opportunity
In this strategic leadership role, you'll spearhead the development and implementation of our groundbreaking PIE project transformation plan. Based in Libertyville with up to 25% local travel, you'll work directly with business leaders, community partners, and our dedicated team to create new pathways to competitive employment. This position offers the unique opportunity to lead meaningful change while supervising project staff including our Community Employment Innovator and administrative support team.
What you'll accomplish:
- Lead the development of an innovative employment transformation model that expands competitive job opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Build and convene an active council of local business leaders who will champion community employment and create new job opportunities
- Design comprehensive evaluation systems that measure project success and guide continuous program improvement
- Develop strategic partnerships across departments and with community organizations to integrate employment services and advance project goals
- Create individualized assessment tools and employment readiness strategies that match participants with meaningful career opportunities
What you bring to this role:
You bring 5-7 years of progressive experience in workforce development with a track record of building successful business relationships and creating employment opportunities. Your background includes knowledge of best practices in competitive, integrated employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with experience working across departments to achieve organizational goals. You're someone who thrives on strategic thinking, values inclusion and empowerment, and has the leadership skills to influence positive change through collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in workforce development or related field
- Proven experience with grant management, preferably in IDD or workforce development sectors
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage diverse stakeholders from business leaders to community partners
- Knowledge of strategies for outreach to minority groups and underserved communities
