Summary

 

We're looking for a dedicated Shipping & Receiving Clerk to play a vital role in our warehouse operations. This position ensures the efficient flow of merchandise and supplies while providing mentorship to adults with developmental disabilities who participate in our vocational programs. The ideal candidate will maintain inventory accuracy, ensure quality control, and deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

 

The Role

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk at Lambs Farm will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring all merchandise and supplies arriving and leaving the warehouse while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Organizing and labeling products in the warehouse to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Providing training and supervision to adults with developmental disabilities in warehouse operations.
  • Ensuring quality control for all outgoing Lambs Farm products.
  • Making weekly deliveries to retail stores in the area, rotating and organizing displays of Lambs Farm products.
  • Distributing supplies throughout the campus by helping Participants pull and fulfill orders, checking for accuracy, and assisting with deliveries.
  • Inspecting incoming shipments for damage and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Managing stock requisitions through the dedicated email account system.
  • Packing and shipping Lambs Farm products to customers in a timely manner.
  • Delivering and picking up supplies from outside vendors and customers.

 

Qualifications
 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience preferred in inventory control, purchasing, and shipping.
  • Excellent customer service skills for interacting with both internal and external customers.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physically capable of performing tasks that require bending, lifting, and walking, with the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Basic computer skills including accurate typing, navigating websites, entering and recalling data, using word processors and spreadsheet software, managing emails, and familiarity with digital communication.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment.
